The Collective was an interim art installation ― a pop up restaurant, gallery and junkyard of sorts, filling the former One Little West 12th restaurant space until a final concept was decided on for its next iteration. Inspired by old, discarded and useless items, we set up a temporary workshop to restore and repurpose furniture, junk and memorabilia sourced from antique stores, Craigslist, eBay, Etsy…. and the streets, and recruited local artists to create installations like pill bottle chandeliers, styrofoam ceilings and woven scrap columns.
