Text description provided by the architects. A new apartment building was constructed in Berlin-Mitte. Boldly designed, innovative and elegant: An avant-garde building sculpture in the heart of Berlin between bourgeois generosity and modern transparency.

The building is characterized by its faceted aluminum facade, the extraordinary lobby and split-level apartments, which allow generous living experiences that you really only know from houses.

There is an underground parking garage as well as a courtyard with stone bands and fields with height beds. The façade of Tor 149 features a bright matt metal-coloured hue. A special effect appears when you walk by the building. For a moment it seems as if the building is rotating and then turns away. This effect is achieved by faceted façade elements which capture the light in different ways.

The design for Tor149 also reflects the semantics of Berlin: both the traditions of late nineteenth facades as well as the desire for an unbroken history influenced the design process.
