Homo Faber Venice 2018 Imaginary architecture Fondazione Giogio Cini In this first exhibition dedicated to European craftsmanship, India Mahdavi celebrates the know-hows that bind the hand, the mind, the heart and the eye together. With the invitation of the Michelangelo Foundation, she signs two contemporary follies, ‘Henri Rousseau Forever’ and ‘Merry-Go-Round’ – two exhilarating rooms to reveal her signature materials such as rattan, ceramic and polychrome velvets. ‘The know-how of craftsmanship is at its best when serving the imaginary. When the might of the hand is combined to the might of the mind, the magic is revealed. Beauty only results from this encounter.’ Avec cette première exposition manifeste dédiée à lartisanat d’art européen, India Mahdavi célèbre le savoir-faire autour des liens unissant le geste, la mémoire, limagination, lœil et la matière. À linvitation de la Michelangelo Foundation, elle signe deux *folies* contemporaines : *Henri Rousseau Forever* et *Merry Go Round*. Deux *happiness rooms* pour mettre en scène ses matériaux signature tels que le rotin, la céramique et le velours polychrome. *Le savoir-faire prend son sens lorsquil est au service de limaginaire. Cest la force de la main associée à celle de lesprit qui fait que la magie opère.
