Sandra Weingort is an interior designer with a discerning eye. With her delicate aesthetic sense and profound understanding of art, she has transformed a small courtyard located in Winscott, New York State, into a space that perfectly integrates with art. This residence was designed by Bates Masi   Architects, aiming to echo the local farm and beach landscapes. The architectural style is full of rural flavor. Weingorts task is to reimagine the living space of this house and transform it into a space capable of showcasing art collections. Her designs emphasize the organic integration of functionality and art, providing each piece of art with an appropriate background and showcasing the unique charm of modernist and medieval design through carefully selected furniture.

The residence created by Weingort for this art collector couple is divided into several separate living areas, including a dedicated area for displaying artworks. The layout of these areas fully takes into account the historical background and environmental characteristics of the buildings, while emphasizing the fluidity and openness of the space. In contrast to the simple style of the building itself is the modern furniture carefully selected by Weingort, among which there are no shortage of classic works by famous masters, such as the designs of Pierre Jeanneret and George Nakashima. These pieces of furniture not only enhance the artistic atmosphere of the space, but also complement the artworks through the combination of colors and materials.

Every space in the design is filled with a dialogue with art. The arrangement of the living room and the family activity room promotes interaction between family members and guests, while providing a display environment for artworks that is neither noisy nor full of vitality. Weingort is well aware that art collection is not merely the accumulation of items, but rather a deep integration with space and a perfect match with lifestyle. Every piece of furniture and every wall has been carefully considered to ensure that they can form a harmonious relationship with the existence of artworks.
