The Palm Tree House 坐落于西班牙加达克斯（Cadaqués），是一处承载家族记忆与地中海建筑传统的历史住宅。它由建筑师 Víctor Bergnes de las Casas 的曾祖父于20世纪中叶购得，当时这组原为渔民所用的建筑因缘巧合被其发现与收购。曾祖父在旅行中偶然路过，因被其建筑风貌深深吸引，当即借遍在场友人之资，现场支付定金，迅速敲定交易。其果断之举为后世保留下这组历史性建筑。

The Palm Tree House is located in Cadaques, Spain. It is a historical residence that carries the family memories and the architectural traditions of the Mediterranean. It was purchased by the great-grandfather of architect Victor Bergnes de las Casas in the middle of the 20th century. At that time, this group of buildings originally used by fishermen was discovered and acquired by him by chance. My great-grandfather happened to pass by during a trip and was deeply attracted by its architectural style. He immediately borrowed money from all the friends present, paid the deposit on the spot, and quickly settled the deal. His decisive move has preserved this group of historic buildings for future generations.

该建筑群原始面貌已不可详考，然而在入口石头上铭刻的“1733”年号，昭示着其悠久历史。近三百年后，Víctor 在游历全球、与西班牙知名建筑师 Tonet Sunyer 共事并创立个人工作室之后，接受家族委托，主导了这座祖宅的整体修复与再构。他保留了建筑结构中典型的地中海元素，例如拱顶结构、石墙肌理与光线引导路径，并通过微妙的现代介入重新诠释其空间功能。

The original appearance of this complex of buildings can no longer be verified in detail. However, the era name 1733 engraved on the stone at the entrance indicates its long history. Nearly three hundred years later, after traveling around the world, working with the renowned Spanish architect Tonet Sunyer and establishing his own studio, Victor accepted a commission from his family and led the overall restoration and reconstruction of this ancestral home. He retained the typical Mediterranean elements in the architectural structure, such as the vaulted structure, the texture of the stone walls and the guiding paths of light, and reinterpreted its spatial function through subtle modern intervention.

“The Palm Tree House”这一名称亦承载着家族记忆。曾祖父曾在庭院中种下一株从异地带回的棕榈树，成为当时村庄中独一无二的存在。尽管这棵树如今已不复存在，房屋的名称却延续至今，成为本地居民共识中地标性的存在。Víctor 在修复过程中，细致保留家族历代人在建筑中留下的印记，同时注入当代美学与生活方式的考量，在时间的层叠与光影交织中，为这座历史住宅赋予新的生命感与空间意想。

The name The Palm Tree House also carries the family memory. My great-grandfather once planted a palm tree brought back from a distant place in the courtyard, making it a unique presence in the village at that time. Although the tree no longer exists now, the name of the house has been passed down to this day and has become a landmark in the consensus of local residents. During the restoration process, Victor meticulously preserved the imprints left by the familys generations in the building, while also infusing contemporary aesthetic and lifestyle considerations. Through the layering of time and the interplay of light and shadow, he endowed this historical residence with a new sense of life and spatial imagination.
