这栋历史联排住宅位于纽约上西区，建于1895年，保留了典型的英国哥特式（English Gothic）建筑特色。本次改造由 Chused - Co 事务所主导，设计师珍娜·楚斯德（Jenna Chused）在项目中着重探索历史肌理与现代生活需求之间的微妙平衡。住宅为一四口之家打造，整体布局能够在日常居住与频繁社交之间自如切换，呈现出兼具精致与实用的空间氛围。

This historic townhouse is located in the Upper West Side of New York. It was built in 1895 and retains typical English Gothic architectural features. This renovation was carried out by Chused -amp; Led by Co Firm, designer Jenna Chused focused on exploring the delicate balance between historical texture and modern life demands in the project. The residence is designed for a family of four. The overall layout can be freely switched between daily living and frequent social activities, presenting a spatial atmosphere that is both exquisite and practical.

入口层通过重新梳理动线与空间尺度，使公共区域更具流动感与层次感。餐厅核心是一张家族餐桌，由两件定制半月形（demi-lune）家具支撑，平日贴墙陈设，必要时可拼接桌端，将座位扩展至十六人，体现出空间的灵活性与社交功能。毗邻的起居室在布局上兼顾亲密性与开放性，软装与尺度处理使其既适合作为家庭休闲区，也可在聚会时自然转化为优雅会客场域，确保每位访客在坐或立时都能保持舒适互动。

The entrance level reorganizes the circulation lines and spatial scales, making the public areas more fluid and layered. The core of the dining room is a family dining table, supported by two custom-made demi-lune pieces of furniture. It is usually placed against the wall and can be joined at the table ends when necessary to expand the seating capacity to sixteen people, demonstrating the flexibility and social function of the space. The adjacent living room is laid out in a way that balances intimacy and openness. The soft furnishings and scale treatment make it suitable not only as a family leisure area but also naturally transform into an elegant meeting room during gatherings, ensuring that every visitor can maintain a comfortable interaction whether sitting or standing.

改造过程中，团队意外发现入口层木地板下的原始马赛克地坪，并对其进行完整修复，使其成为最具象征性的视觉焦点，延续了建筑的百年历史。通往上层的木地板则被替换为欧洲回收古典拼花地板（reclaimed European parquet），在脚下营造出丰富的纹理层次，让居住者在日常步行中感受到历史的温润对话。

During the renovation process, the team unexpectedly discovered the original Mosaic floor beneath the wooden floor at the entrance level and carried out a complete restoration of it, making it the most symbolic visual focus and continuing the buildings century-old history. The wooden floor leading to the upper level has been replaced with reclaimed European parquet, creating a rich texture layer underfoot and allowing residents to feel the warm dialogue of history during their daily walks.

Overall, Chused -amp; In its design, Co adopts a prudent and insightful strategy, providing flexible and diverse Spaces to meet the actual needs of families. At the same time, through the selection of materials and the preservation and regeneration of historical elements, it demonstrates respect for the spirit of the original building. The space establishes a coherent expression between classical structure and modern lifestyle, rejuvenating this century-old residence and highly aligning it with the contemporary pace of life.
