Focus by Bill Yue is both an extension and a personal culmination of the culinary philosophy of Mr. Yue, former Michelin one-star chef in Chengdu.
Here, the textures of French cuisine are translated into architecture—an edible language made spatial, a structure one can enter.
用建筑的语言设计呼吸能生长的味觉场域.
Using architecture as a medium, the project constructs a breathing, evolving sensory field of taste.
解构法餐的仪式感,重建料理精神的纯粹.
By deconstructing the ritual of French dining, it reclaims the purity of the culinary spirit itself.
东方肌理,法式骨架是设计的起点.
An Eastern material sensibility combined with a
Frenc
h structural framework forms the starting point of the design.
入口处,粗朴的旧木、清冷的石材与细腻的艺术涂料叠合交错,如同一次
坦诚的材质对话.
At the entrance, rough reclaimed wood, cool stone, and delicate artistic coatings interweave in layers—an honest dialogue of materials.
动线随之松弛分流:幽静的曲径则引向更具仪式感的私密场
域;
开阔的大厅以流动的曲线拥抱来者,
既不过分疏离,亦不刻意亲近.
From here, circulation gently loosens and diverges: a quiet, winding path leads toward more ceremonial and intimate dining spaces, while the open hall welcomes guests with flowing curves—neither distant nor overly intimate.
整体设计将法餐中那些微妙的瞬间,泡沫的蓬松、贝壳的光泽、发酵的韵律,菌褶的自然生长,凝固成
了空间的轮廓.
The overall design crystallizes the subtle moments of French cuisine into spatial form: the lightness of foam, the sheen of shells, the rhythm of fermentation, the organic growth of gills—each translated into architectural contours.
大厅
顶面起伏的柔化模块,像刚打发蓬松的料理泡沫;
Soft, undulating ceiling modules in the main hall resemble freshly whipped culinary foam;
起伏流转的隐约光泽,仿佛贝壳内壁的呼吸;
their shifting, subdued luster recalls the inner breath of a seashell.
而弧线与肌理的舒展,则带着菌褶般
规律
的自然生长。完成从视觉到味觉的通感连接.
The expansion of curves and textures follows a natural rhythm, akin to the patterned growth of mushroom gills—completing a synesthetic connection between vision and taste.
在这里建筑本身,就是一道凝视的料理.抬头,
光、形、质构成
看见食物的呼吸.
Here, architecture itself becomes a dish meant for contemplation.
Looking upward, light, form, and texture allow one to see food breathe.

Mostly concealed and diffused, it forms a soft, atmospheric ground within the space.
When the dish is served, focused light emerges—framing that singular moment of ritual with silent precision.
开放厨房置于空间中央,成为持续生长的动态舞台.
The open kitchen sits at the heart of the space, functioning as a continuously evolving stage.
从烹饪到传递的过程,在坦诚有序的布局中全然呈现.

As cuisine returns to its essence, the space balances relaxation with refined luxury.From the moment one enters, the experience begins to unfold organically.

From opening the door to taking one’s seat, every pause and gaze becomes part of an immersive journey that transcends taste alone.
