This 140-square-meter duplex residence located in Moscow, designed by interior designer Yana Bakhtin, showcases the integration of modern living Spaces and the context of historical architecture. The residence was originally an old printing factory, retaining the high ceilings and open Spaces of the loft style. At the same time, it features rare architectural elements, including a wooden fireplace, a terrace overlooking the city center, and an expansive view of the old house of collector Piotr Shchukin. Yana Bachtin, oriented towards family use, used it as a pied-a-terre to share a residence with her partner and two children.

在设计理念上，雅娜有意识地规避传统 loft 的工业或野兽派(Brutalism)美学，转而追求一种温暖而优雅的室内氛围。空间布局明确，公共区域与私密区域分层明显：底层为开放式客厅、餐厅及厨房，高层则安排主卧、儿童房及儿童浴室。通过对二层空间的扩展，她实现了视觉上的区域分隔，同时增设宽敞主浴室，并在客厅安装天窗，增强自然光的多向流动性。卧室光线设计同样巧妙，通过天窗和半透明玻璃隔断，让光线渗透至入口与客厅。

In terms of design concept, Yana consciously avoids the industrial or Brutalism aesthetics of traditional lofts and instead pursues a warm and elegant indoor atmosphere. The spatial layout is clear, with a distinct stratification between public and private areas: the ground floor features an open-plan living room, dining room and kitchen, while the upper floors are equipped with a master bedroom, childrens room and childrens bathroom. By expanding the second floor space, she achieved visual area division, added a spacious master bathroom, and installed a skylight in the living room to enhance the multi-directional flow of natural light. The lighting design in the bedroom is equally ingenious. Through skylights and semi-transparent glass partitions, light penetrates into the entrance and the living room.

在材质与色彩方面，雅娜选择中性、沉静的色调，以破白与黑色为主，并辅以自然亚麻窗帘、土色大理石板及蜜色橡木人字拼地板，形成温润而统一的空间质感。家具与装饰兼具东西方及艺术风格影响，从日本、中国到法式现代主义与装饰艺术风格均有体现，融合古董与复古元素，如使用两百年前工作台改造的 wabi-sabi 茶几，以及让-普鲁维(Jean Prouvé)设计的椅子和雅克·阿德内(Jacques Adnet)的小桌。整体室内通过理性建筑、自然材质及个性化收藏，营造出宁静、温暖且光感充盈的居住体验。

In terms of materials and colors, Yana opts for neutral and calm tones, mainly featuring broken white and black, complemented by natural linen curtains, earth-colored marble slabs and honey-colored oak herringbone flooring, creating a warm and unified spatial texture. The furniture and decoration are influenced by both Eastern and Western styles as well as artistic styles, ranging from Japanese, Chinese to French modernism and Art Deco styles. They integrate antique and retro elements, such as the wabi-sabi coffee table transformed from a workbench dating back two hundred years. And the chairs designed by Jean Prouve and the small tables by Jacques Adnet. The entire interior creates a serene, warm and light-filled living experience through rational architecture, natural materials and personalized collections.
