On a journey of merging art and function, OKHA has established itself as an intuitive furniture brand that is elevating African design. If a single item could speak to the brands ethos and approach, Repose would be OKHA’s voice. This piece, designed by Creative Director Adam Court, is a sensual, serene, and surreal landscape, sculpted into a seat that stretches out like a languid form in recline, revealing the intersection between design and emotion.

设计的灵感源于亚当（Adam）为一座海滨别墅打造室内设计项目时的直觉创作过程。“我当时在徒手画一些东西，线条自由、松散且流畅，并没有去想最终成品会是什么样子，也没有规划它的发展方向。这个形状是自然形成的，之后我才把它调整成一件可供人倚靠休憩的家具。” 他解释道。

从一开始，亚当就明确，他希望这款主沙发能呈现出极具雕塑感的形态 —— 既能成为空间的视觉核心、稳固整体格局，又能引领整个室内的设计风格。“Repose（休憩）” 系列的曲线弧度，最终成为解决客厅空间比例复杂问题的设计方案：这一成果的实现，离不开对空间环境的考量，以及对限制性参数的灵活调整。

The concept for the design came from Adam’s intuitive process when working on an interior design project for a coastal villa.

“I was drawing something freehand, loose, and fluid, and not thinking about the end result and where it was heading. The shape created itself, then I coerced it into something you rest and recline on,” he explains.

From the outset, Adam knew that he wanted the main seating to be a highly sculpted form that would anchor and hold the space and be the design lead for the interior. The curvature of Repose turned into a design solution for the complicated proportions of the living space, made possible by engaging with context and manipulating restrictive parameters.

将一种非系统化、非线性的有机形态转化为三维实体，过程颇具挑战性。OKHA 将木质框架当作一件雕塑作品来打造，在制作过程中逐步攻克工程难题。团队在工厂投入了大量时间，从木材加工阶段，到复杂的泡沫塑形与建模环节，全程指导并推进整个制作流程。

Creating a three-dimensional form out of a non-systematic, non-linear organic form proved to be a complex process. OKHA constructed the wooden frame as a piece of sculpture, resolving the engineering as they progressed. A great amount of time was spent in the factory, guiding and evolving the construction from the timber stages through to the extensive foam shaping and modelling.

“Creating Repose was a very gratifying process for me as a designer, as I come from a fine art background and sculpture was one of my passions,” says Adam. “I believe the greatest success of the design is how it immediately provokes an emotional and visceral response from the viewer.”

From minimalist city apartments to modernist family homes near the coast, this piece of furniture is a symbol of sensual practicality that serves any space and lifestyle with contemporary luxury at its forefront.
