Loft Residence位于澳大利亚悉尼，由设计师奥利弗·杜普伊（Oliver Du Puy）操刀改造，并由约瑟夫·加德纳（Joseph Gardner）完成陈设风格化。其前身是一栋建于20世纪初的混凝土与砖石仓库，原本因隔断与假天花的层层分割而显得局促零碎。经过改造后，空间被剥离至结构的本真，裸露的混凝土立柱与质朴的贾拉木（Jarrah）地板共同构成一种原始的诗意，回应着“侘寂”（wabi-sabi）所追求的瑕疵与无常之美，同时亦呼应唐纳德·贾德（Donald Judd）在纽约春街101号（101 Spring Street）的极简精神，以及京都旅馆的静谧氛围。

Loft Residence is located in Sydney, Australia. It was renovated by designer Oliver Du Puy and furnished stylized by Joseph Gardner. Its predecessor was a concrete and brick warehouse built in the early 20th century. Originally, it appeared cramped and fragmented due to the layers of partitions and false ceilings. After renovation, the space has been stripped away to the essence of the structure. The exposed concrete columns and the rustic Jarrah wood floor together form a primitive poetic atmosphere, responding to the beauty of imperfection and impermanence pursued by "wabi-sabi" It also echoes the minimalist spirit of Donald Judd at 101 Spring Street in New York and the serene atmosphere of the Kyoto Inn.

材料的节制与对感知的敏锐构成了设计的核心语言。设计师将干预范围限制在大理石、橡木与不锈钢之内，借由几种质材之间的协调，使结构格局成为主角。厨房以钢板包覆，既是烹饪之所，也是光影装置般的存在。清晨的冷冽光线与黄昏的橙粉色余晖在金属表面游走，赋予空间节奏与温度。大理石岛台安放在八角形立柱之间，如同空间的引力中心，承载着会面、用餐与日常仪式。

The restraint of materials and the acuity of perception constitute the core language of design. The designer confined the scope of intervention to marble, oak and stainless steel, and through the coordination among several materials, made the structural layout the protagonist. The kitchen is covered with steel plates and serves not only as a place for cooking but also as a light and shadow installation. The cold light of the early morning and the orange-pink afterglow of the dusk meander on the metal surface, endowing the space with rhythm and warmth. The marble island platform is placed between the octagonal columns, like the gravitational center of the space, carrying meetings, meals and daily rituals.

家具与艺术的选择延续了材料的诚实与纯粹。杜普伊与加德纳从日本与欧洲甄选作品，每一件都因材料的真实与创作的直接性而被纳入。艺术收藏中，吉迪恩·鲁宾（Gideon Rubin）的绘画散发出“温柔的忧郁与日常的情色”，在辽阔的空间里以其谦逊的尺度，营造出片刻的私密与沉思。

The choice of furniture and art continues the honesty and purity of materials. Dupuy and Gardner selected works from Japan and Europe, each of which was included due to the authenticity of the materials and the directness of the creation. In the art collection, Gideon Rubins paintings exude "gentle melancholy and everyday eroticism", creating a moment of privacy and contemplation in a vast space with their humble scale.

The entire residence strikes a delicate balance between industrial heritage and living temperature, making the space a stage where materials, light and shadow, and emotions interweave.
