Are you walking on the ground, or treading on air?
Recently, Fununit Design, together with architect Renzo Piano, “completed” an intriguing practice—one that penetrates architecture, landscape, and interior alike.
LESS, BUT BETTER.STARAY is a brand that transforms 3D printing into an everyday force, bringing technology closer to daily life.
Inspired by STARAY’s spirit of freedom and breath,
we asked ourselves: How can a space be rapidly constructed within the context of OōEli?
The spatial field extends into the outdoors,
with the enclosing box transformed into a complete symbolic language.
Its structural form simulates the shape of air,
becoming a strong brand symbol that can take root in memory.
Beneath the eaves of the building,
a new spatial curtain wall is formed with detachable uprights—
some anchored vertically to the ground, others suspended in midair.
This structure penetrates between inside and outside,
visually linking the interior site with the architecture itself.
we recorded a rhythm of space—
leaving behind a trace within OōEli.
The installation pierces through Renzo Piano’s architecture,
half inside, half outside.
On the interior, it becomes seating for trying on shoes;
on the exterior, when sunlight and mist pass through,
it settles beneath dappled green shadows,
forming a “breathing space” where one can pause, rest, and capture a moment.
可持续的材料,完成一场关于材料、空气与舒适的空间实验。
With sustainable materials, we created a spatial experiment of matter, air, and comfort.
A 3D-printed lattice extends into the space as a woven visual field.
The space itself becomes an enlarged diagram of molecular structures.
Through this “architectural molecular structure,”
the combination of foam rods and climbing ropes allows visitors to feel as if they are truly inside a pair of breathing shoes.
The entire field is enclosed in a way that is both naturally irregular and orderly coexistent,
forming an ecological interface in dialogue with structure.
Defying intuition and perception, when light, shadow, and objects appear to float,
sunlight, wind, and mist can naturally permeate through.
A sense of lightness and freedom emerges—
becoming the most instinctive form of resonance.
Shoes “floating” above the entrance,
their crystalline structures projected onto OōEli’s fair-faced concrete walls through light.
Shoes suspended against the perforations of OōEli’s concrete walls,
transformed into a color display without damaging the surface.
Shoes of 3D STARAY penetrating through mirrors,
appearing suspended in reflection.
Displayed shoes elevated and “floating” above the exhibition stands,
creating a sense of levitation.
The Hidden Also Shapes Order
By integrating storage into the structure and concealing organization beneath the form,
finished materials are assembled into a discreet storage system.
This is not only a strategy for spatial efficiency,
but also a response to the design philosophy of minimalism and restraint.
When time defines the frame of creation,
the site itself becomes a canvas.
The brand becomes the hand that writes,
and design arises naturally.
a single step through space
leaves behind an enduring trace.
— By Fununit Design - More
We place our footsteps within OōEli,
and slow the rhythm by half a beat.
Each step is a choice of direction;
each breath, the courage to leave space.
Amid the rush, we carve out pauses,
and with shoes that truly move with the body,
we feel the freedom of every landing,
the tenderness of every deep breath.
It is an exploration of slowing down, of lightening up—
a life practice of Less but Better.
From the ground beneath us,
every step becomes more free.
When footsteps learn to breathe,
the earth releases its measure.
rewriting the chapter of walking
with a poetry that is biodegradable.
becomes oxygen offered to the universe.
This was truly a special experience.
With the most contemporary language,
sustainable materials, and handcrafted construction,
we completed the project with remarkable efficiency in an extremely short time.
